The word is out about the new BMW M diesels and everyone (including us) is shaking in their driving boots. Sure, they may only be packing six cylinders, but these little fellas are scrappy and ready to fight.
Here’s one of the first sightings of all of them together: the X6 M50d, M550 xDrive, M550d xDrive Touring, and the X5 M50d. Add them all up and you get a total of 2184 lb-ft of diesel-powered torque. BMW recently spilled the details on the new batch of M diesel, all of which are powered by a 3.0-liter, triple-turbo, inline-six rated at 381 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed auto sends power to all four wheels, offering European drivers plenty of grip on the twisties.
Yep, that’s right, these new M cars are a Europe-only special, including the painfully sexy M550 xDrive wagon. But you never know. Perhaps if we cause enough of a ruckus BMW may just have to send these bad boys to our side of town to keep us in line. Enjoy the video and start your whining!
